SNOWBOARD SHAPES GUIDE
The Igneous line represents over 25 years of research and development in the Tetons and other ranges around the world. Each shape and matched camber profile are available in various lengths, and width is flexible to fine tune your board to you. Igneous will also make any full custom shape and camber profile you want.
CONSTRUCTION PROFILES
Your construction profile will heavily influence ride characteristics at different speeds and in varying terrain and conditions, as well as determine carry/splitboard skinning weight. Once you have a profile in mind, we'll work with you to determine your final construction based on your size, age, and gender.
MATERIALS & BUILD
We handbuild your snowboard core to match your rider profile and terrain intentions, varying the core thickness and blend of hard maple, white ash, and fir. For splitboards, we build two separate cores with full sidewalls around each, increasing longevity and flex consistency. All Igneous boards have quartersawn hard maple sidewalls, which provide superior impact resistance to ABS and higher structural integrity than P-tex.
Depending on your construction profile, varying weights of premium composite stitched triaxial fiberglass or carbon will enforce the stiffness and torsional rigidity of your board. Bulletproof Kevlar protects from rocks and strategically placed rubber foil dampens chatter on crud.
Typically found only on race boards but found on all Igneous boards, sintered graphite bases are fastest, hold more wax, and are always all black. We stone grind them and apply a medium-coarse cross structure, base conditioner, and warm wax with cold wax overlay. Precision-tuned, hand-filed and polished oversized hardened steel edges are strong, fast, and provide both durability and tuning longevity.
IGNEOUS TOPSHEETS
Igneous wood topsheets lend unique character to our snowboards and also provide additional rigidity. Wood is the original high-tensile, cross-linked polymer matrix, and with our high-performance epoxy, the topsheet significantly stiffens flex.
We also gladly work with local artists on custom art snowboards. For maximum performance, an optional carbon topsheet will increase response and reduce weight.
CARE & WARRANTY
Igneous provides tuning services and instruction. Snowboards are warrantied for defects in materials and craftsmanship for three years or the equivalent of one 100-day season. All service is factory direct.
